Strawberries too tart!

| I'm getting a bumper crop of strawberries this year but they're too tart to eat plain. I eat lemons, limes and calamondins plain, so these are some tart berries! Some are in peat moss (acid), some are in clay under mature pine (humus layer over clay), and some are in plain clay so I don't think pH is the issue. Any tips on how to get sweeter berries on the plant would be appreciated. They are ok with chocolate :) |

| I have been putting compost (home made so there are lots of live things in it) for several years on my strawberries in the fall. They are very sweet. Think it may be rough on them strawberries to be in plain clay or peat moss. |
