Cinnamon Vine

Question on cinnamon vine (Chinese yam):
Is "Dioscorea Opposita" same as "Dioscorea Batatas"? I am interested in the edible tuber. According to the some of the picture I saw, D. Opposita has the edible tuber. I am not sure whether D. Batatas has same tuber.

Any comment is welcome! Thank you very much.

RE: Cinnamon Vine

According to Richters www.richters.com they are the same. I ordered some tubers to plant last year and they did well, until winter came along. I only had one plant survive and it is doing quite nicely now. It hasn't bloomed yet, so can't tell you about the tubers!
