Melianthus major toxic or not?

I have a Melianthus major that has nectar dripping from its flowers. It is sweet tasting, not bitter, and it doesn't smell bad. I have read conflicting information on whether this nectar is toxic or not. Does anyone know?

| My knowlege of Melianthus is that it's the nectar that is used and no other part of the plant. That's where it gets the name honey bush. |
