Large Scale Edible Planting (woodland, shaded) post buckthorn

I'm in the process of removing buckthorn from three acres of woods. Once done I would like to replant/reseed the area with edible plants. Most should be natives, a few can be non-native as long as they are non-invasive. I can't imagine planting a few thousand plants by hand, or the cost of those plants. Seed seems to be the right option.

My first question is: do you agree that seed is the right option?

Any idea where I could get bulk seed from native edibles?

Edibles:
Hazelnut
Berries (any and all edible and tasty ones)
Deer Plot foods (greens, turnips, clover, ...)
Herbs
...

I would love to find 3 or 4 seed mixes that I could selectively broadcast in appropriate areas of the woods.
