has anyone grown the miniature paw paw that grows no larger than 5 feet. i would love one of these if the fruit is the same. it would be the perfect size for my city yard. i found it accidently on the web, but they are sold out. if the fruit isn't the same, i don't want to waste my time, money or space.

Sorry, never heard of this, but most pawpaws grow very slow and can be trimmed back to five feet if that helps.

If you are referring to Dwarf Pawpaw-Asimina parviflora, then you may have success growing it. It transplants well, the fruit is not bad, and the maximum height that I've seen was seven feet, but I'm sure they get taller. You can always keep it well pruned. Paul.

One edible landscape catalog suggests that the regular Pawpaw handles pruning well. I have had very good luck with growth rates. While you may be able to contain the foliage to a small size, I know it has a deep root structure.

I mowed my 2 paw paws when small accidentally, and they grew back with multiple trunks. Now they are 6' and 8' tall. Should I get rid of the extra trunks or leave it? I have trouble with deer scratching up trunks of single-trunked trees so I'm inclined to let it have several to make it hard for the deer. How much longer will I hve to wait for fruit? They are just seedling trees from Burnt Ridge.
