The common purslane can be found growing wild all over the united states, I've seen it many places in florida, growing through cracks in the sidewalk or in sandy borders around landscaping. You can just dig up one of those plants and transplant. It is perfectly edible - I like it quite a bit.

There is a variety, I think called 'golden purslane', that is supposedly tastier.You can order seed for that that online. If anyone has seeds to share for golden purslane, I would be interested.

I just read a good article about it on Dave's Garden. It says it is also good to break up deadpan in a garden. I guess I'll have to buy some seeds and try it. It is chocked full of Omega 3's and Vit. C. Seeds of Change has it for sale. I think Richter's did too.
