Planting time: Fall vs Spring time. What do you think?

Hi, every one!
I’m willing to plant a few more Black currants and gooseberry.
I live in South Jersey area.
What is the best time to plant: fall or spring?
I’m not that concern with productivity for next summer as bushes ability to survive winter.

As far as currants, I've trimmed currant bushes in late sept and pushed the trimmings into the ground and watered until winter hit and had almost all go into full leaf and some even fruited the next spring.

Most currants are hardy down into zones 3&4, so zone six shouldn't be a problem.
