Can I still plant sunflower and basil seeds?

| I wish I had planted more of both!!
If I put some sunflower and/or basil seeds in the ground now will I see flowers and have basil leaves to eat before first frost?
Any ideas? Thanks |

| no, too late for that, you can buy potted basil on sale this late in the season, and stick it in the ground till the end of the season. |
