Laurel-bay tree

Posted by freshtomato northern NJ (My Page) on

I live in Northern NJ and would like to plant a Bay tree (Laurel). Any suggestion where to find one, or a nursery that can order it? And since the hardiness is a bit borderline, did anybody tried already and with what results?
thanks

RE: Laurel-bay tree

You could put your question on the 'herbs' forum. There are lots of postings about bay over there and there is probably someone in your area who can help you. I would have thought that any decent nursery will have plants. It is quite tricky to grow from cuttings and takes a while from seed, which needs to be fresh. Where I live bay self seeds and is hardy and can grow into a sizeable tree.
