Find Pomegranate Trees

I am trying to find a source for unusual, fruiting pomegranates. I am growing a couple of the standard Wonderful and another variety called Texas Sweet, that is supposed to very hardy. I have read that there are other commercial varieties, including a very large, pink-skinned one (can't remember the name). Does anyone have any leads on buying pom tree? All help appreciated!

Raintree and One Green World have pomegranite trees available.

There is one (and the name escapes me right now, favorite maybe?) that I was considering myself.

Also check The National Germplasm Repository

Here is a link that might be useful: The National Germplasm Repository

The large one with pink skin and red interior may be Ambrosia. I just got mine this past spring from a California mail order company at www.baylaurelnursery.com. I also got Grenada and Eversweet from them. They have a large selection of pomegranates relatively speaking. (Most places I've found only carry Wonderful and decorative dwarfs.

Definately contact the germplasm site; although you'll have to root the cuttings yourself, you'll find they have the biggest selection. They don't cost anything (paid for with your taxes) and are easy to root.I reccomend fleshman and eversweet. Paul.

Did you ever contact the germplasm repository? If so, what did you get and how did it grow?
