Hello all!

I have attempted to air layer but a carambola(star fruit) and Cherry of the Rio Grande tree, however after a couple months of removing the foil or plastic there is simply white callus growths where there should be roots. I have been using rooting hormone powder after scraping the outer bark off and wrapping with moist sphagnum. Any advice that may work?

When did you begin the air-layer? It may take many months for roots to form; the callus is a good sign, just keep the material moist and in place.
