Sunflower, white: sources? Tips?
| | |

My garden quite dark at fenced area late afternoon,
so white sunflowers would be charming bright 'lights'
next to fence and good bird food.
Light: sun, all day, but only dappled due to
massive overgrown walnut tree branches overhanging
my garden. And nope, chopping them not an option.
My local nursery says, every year, they will
order seeds; still waiting.
-Also good squirrel food? They & I in a bit of
tussel!
-Possible to grow: small space between fence
& concrete "floor"?
-Seed Sources?
-Advice, tips? |

| The whitest sunflower I've ever grown is the "Italian White" which is readily available through numerous mailorder sources (usually). They are not a pure white but as close as anything I've every seen. Great cut flower too as the heads are not so large. I know Territorial Seeds, Nichols Garden Nursery, Burpee, Thompson & Morgan and others have carried it so I'd give them a try. Territorial and Nichols are both up here in Oregon and companies I've had very good luck with. Good luck |
