Thanks for posting this! A little too far for me to travel, but I hope that G'webers in the vicinity will visit, glean, and learn. (Anything like this happenning in the Oakville/Burlington area?)

I live in Ottawa and we have been having a similar event here for a number of years. I don't know who hosts ours, but in addition to seeds there are stalls selling lots of products made from organically grown plants e.g. skin cream from Calendula and there are also Forums where you can attend lectures on growing specific plants e.g. garlic which I attended a few years ago. I believe there are many such events in several Canadian cities. Maybe Googling could determine whether there is one in your town. It's a fine way to spend some of your Saturday and really makes you look forward to Spring.

You can go to the Seeds of Diversity Canada's website to find 'Seedy' Events across Canada. They are always looking for members to volunteer at these informational events, to share their knowledge.

There's even a list of Heritage Seed companies you can go through, along with a listing of every heirloom being sold in Canada. Open pollinated seeds tend to be inexpensive, and these companies have lots of information on how to grow them.
