| Looking for this badly, desperately. Has anyone found them in a Canadian catalogue? Will split order. If you have any seed, let me know what you are looking for in exchange. Will trade my husband (but not my dog).
Seriously...really like this plant. Any help/info most appreciated. Wendy |

| Hi Wendy, So your dog helps in the garden and the husband doesn't? I have the same problem, except neither the dog nor the husband help out. Only the chickens do. I like the chickens. I don't know if this Solidago hybrid will come true from seed. DG says no. Lost Horizons nursery near Acton has it-- at least it's listed in their 2009 catalogue. Their 2010 catalogue isn't out yet. "Fireworks" is listed in the Connon NVK print catalogue for 2010, but not in the "other" Connon online listing. I wish those Connon brothers would get their acts together and stop making it so darn confusing. Marketing 101: don't give separate businesses the same name. Good luck. It sure is a nice looking plant. I'm growing Solidago rigida (Stiff Goldenrod) which is very distinct from the ditch variety and bloomed in its second year from seed. It looks really gorgeous. Bev |

| Hi Wendy, I have had this growing in my garden for over 7 years now. Just recently it has started to seed around a bit. The seedlings look like the parent plant, so I would definitely try it from seed (unless you want to purchase a pedigreed plant form a nursery.) LOL. I read somewhere that it is a 'selection' of a native grouping of S.rugosa that grows in the US central mid-atlantic area. It is NOT a hybrid. My original plant is a purchased one. If you can't find any seed, let me know and I will send you some. |
