I have been spending the last two weeks reading the forums and trying to plan the back and front yard of our house. We spent our first summer here 'weed-wackin' and getting rid of old trees, but I haven't had a chance to sit down and think what's next. We'd love to plant veggies, herbs and pretty flowers.

This is an awesome community and I look forward to sharing my experiences and seeds in the future.

I just signed up from Ottawa, ON and will be planting away at a cottage North of here before too long. (We can wish that, anyways, given it's the dead of winter.) Restarting my granddad's tradition of having a real garden on the property.

A quick note to any other lurkers that might be thinking of joining gardenweb and haven't yet. Give in! You know you're going to. I'll still have seeds left to share to help you get started when you sign up.

Also, when creating your member profile, it is helpful if you list the zone you are in and province. If you have time, it is also helpful if you start your trade list or even list a few of the things you'd like to grow on your "seeds I'm looking for" list. This will help me get a sense of what will grow in your region and your particular preferences.
