Hello

Can anyone give me any hints about something to sprinkle around the perimiter of a vegetable garden to keep away mice? I have seen some commericial products -- does anyone know of any home-made brews?

Your input is appreciated!

    Hi Susan,

I plant peppermint where I want the mice to stay away. They can't stand it. Another option (but it's not organic), is to place some "irish spring" soap in small containers around the garden. My hot tub guy taught me this trick years ago to keep the mice from going underneath my hot tub in the winter months. I just slice up a couple of bars and put under the compartment. No more mouse poop. I'm thinking it may work for the garden, but obviously you wouldn't want the soap getting into the ground, so maybe a ventilated container or two would do the trick. It will be great to see what other ideas are out there.
