WANTED: identity of seed from ex

I think I got this in an ex last year.

when I tried to look it up to see what it was and how to go about growing it, I can't find any info on it at all. the seed is simply marked 'aplexis hortensis red orch' the seeds look a bit like osteospermum seeds. they have that kind of papery-ness to them with a firm bulge in the middle.

I have planted a few but would love to know what it is so that I can treat it right (or get rid of it if it turns out to be something unsuitable for me :))

When I googled "hortensis" it brought up "atriplex hortensis" and there is one called red orache so it looks like this might be what you have.If you add "atriplex hortensis seeds" in the search there is one image to look at.

Thank you very much!! :) wow I am usually pretty good about finding out what I want to know but I just could not come up with what this was (my search came up with 'white lipped snail'!)
This is definitely something I want to grow--pretty red/burgundy leaves and edible!
It is called 'mountain spinach or French spinach' and grows 3-5 feet tall.
