WANTED: Stapeliads source in Canada

Posted by quizibo (My Page) on

Hi,

I'm looking for Stapeliads (at large) in Canada. I'm not very picky, either seeds, plants or cuttings. Suggestions of commercial sources in Canada or offers from gardeners are both welcome. I don't have much to offer, i would be interested in buying some plants or seeds.

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom,
A few years ago I was looking for Stapelias like you. I contacted Toronto Cactus society about it, they posted ad in their newsletter and people brought me 2 or 3 varieties for the next meeting. Try it in your area.
Good luck!

PAul Shirley Succulents in the Netherlands is probably the best source. As a Canadian I have ordered many times. The International Asclepiad Society seedbank is also a great source for seeds. Sorry I know these are not Canadian sources but these are not easy plants to find in Canada.

Thanks for your replies,

i live in a rural area, far away from larger cities, so it's why i'm turning on online ressource for find Stapeliads, but the idea of at least getting in touch with a cacti society might improve my chances, thanks

As for the IAS, i was a member back in 2003, and i think it will be the most viable option so far to get my hand on a few species through seeds.

Thank you very much

Hi Tom,

I can send you some cuttings if you pay for the postage. I believe that the plant I have is S. gigantea. Send me an email here (or provide contact info) if interested.

Linda

Sorry about not following the exchange guidelines. I didn't get around to reading them until after I posted!
