I would love to grow these! If you have some seed to spare, I would like to trade.

Please see my trade list :-)

Thank you!

I can send you some when they go to seed or I can try and send some small pieces of root.

Let me know what you would like. :)

hey signet, glad to send you some, but yours' could still be Jerusalem artichoke as there are different varieties that have different roots. I will look up a link for you later tonight

Sheryl, theman, and signet.
I am so sorry for the trouble and getting your hopes up, but it seems that signet and I were both fooled by our plants. I was given this plant and it was supposed to be Jerusalem artichoke, but it has turned out to be an imposter. I has the same flower, but does not have the tuber. I dug some today in preparation to send them and it turns out that my plant has a fibrous root, but no tuber.

That's quite alright, Lois! Don't fret! Not a big deal and not a problem. These things happen in a garden :-)
I have traded with you in the past and I know I will again.
I do hope your plants are not a disappointment to you!
If you want to trade anyway, just let me know.

I went to a Seedy Sat. and came home with a catalogue from Heritage Harvest Seed in Manitoba. They don't have seeds, but sell tubers for three different types of Jerusalem Artichokes (Helianthus tuberosus). Price is good but you would have to pay shipping cost from Manitoba ($12.95). Try to find some tubers for sale at a local organic market, and plant those instead.

Here is a link that might be useful: Heritage Harvest Seed in Manitoba
