WANTED: Live ladybugs

Posted by Favorite_Kitty Zone 5 (My Page) on Sun, Nov 20, 05 at 17:25
| I have a liiiiiiittle aphid problem on some of my indoor plants. I'm sick of squishing them! I want to get some ladybugs to just release in my house. I was hoping someone here had some extra in their greenhouse and would like to trade something with me. I don't need 1500 like I keep finding online for sale. Could you imagine all those ladybugs flying around your house :) |

| Kitty where in zone 5 are you? A month ago we had them by the hundreds here. They came in to winter. If it warms up some I may be able to find a few of them. But how do you ship them. |

| I was told that placing banana peels around inhibits/repels aphids. You may want to try it. I've put several in my enclosed porch and so far haven't seen aphids on the hundred of plants. I didn't spray the plants, either. |

I don't need to imagine all those ladybugs flying around my house!I ran around here one spring scraping them off my windows by the dozens It's been crazy here with them the past ten years. You'll not have much luck with them as they are dormant right now. I have five hibernating in the ceiling corners of this room right now. |
