Can anyone show me what this looks like? Maybe I already have it growing at the farm, but I don't know. Can I grow it from seed and does anyone have some?

I tried to post a picture for you, but I guess I will have to study that one some more. It is best to try to get a plant or a root cutting. I have some small plants if you are interested. I don't mind doing it for postage. The small priority box cost $3.85 to mail. The next size is $7.70. Let me know if you want some. Also check my trade list and see if there is anything else you want. Email me with your dicision.

Comfrey leaves are long, fuzzy, teardrop shape and grow sort of like a rhubarb plant -- long stems with a large leaf on the end of each. The leaves smell like cucumber. The blooms are a cluster of little upside down lavender bells with kind of a square crinkled edge on them. The roots are thick. I have it all around my little goldfish pond/wishing well. I tried planting some other flowers there too but it crowds everything out. (except the spring flowering bulbs I think will do okay before the comfrey comes up). This summer I have enjoyed picking it for sick goats and pig and birthing goats. Animals need to get used to the prickly leaves but then love it. I've heard it is good for chickens too. It just keeps coming right back. Actually it is very hard to eradicate. I've heard about the only way to get rid of it is pen a pig up in it and let them dig up all the roots. Apparently a little cutting missed in the ground will grow. I also could help send you a start if needed. Lita Wallace
