Posted by attila z7 GA (My Page) on

I would like to know if anyone has sources for gentians.
(Including their own stock). I have several species that I could trade. ( Lysimachia, Aster, Mountain Mint)
Thanks

If you can make do with seeds here is a great source:

Just ordered some from Vernon Barnes & Son (McMinnville,Tenn.) They didn't list the species, but shouldn't be difficult to identify, once they bloom.
They don't have a website, but you can find their address and phone no. on Gardenwatchdog.com.or email me.
I have ordered from them several times and have been satisfied with their plants and prices.

Hyla Brook Farm has fringed Gentian, and several other gentian species. I've ordered from them, and they have great stuff.

Sunlight Gardens in east TN does mailorder. I ordered 3 gentians a few years ago, and they were the healthiest plants I ever received. Shipped as the foliage was just emerging; they had super thick roots.

Here is a link that might be useful: Sunlight Gardens
