WANTED: spigelia marilandica seed (indian pink)

I can't even find a commercial source for this seed. Does anyone have any? It would make my hummingbirds very happy.

RE: WANTED: spigelia marilandica seed (indian pink)

Lisa, it's a great plant, but I can't be very encouraging on seeds. Seems to me that I read somewhere (maybe the NE Wildflower Guide?) that the seeds are (1) difficult to collect and (2) have a low viability rate. It is however supposed to be fairly easy to grow from cuttings and I know that after breaking off a large stem by accident earlier this summer, I stuck it in the ground and it definately rooted pretty quickly.
