WANTED: Seeking Wildflower Advice

Posted by eheneke 4 (My Page) on

We live in zone 4 (SE MN). I'm seeking advice for an area of partial and total shaded area at the edge of our half acre woods (probably .10 acres of surface are). I'd like to seed it down with windflowers, preferably something I can just throw down right on top of the ground with no big effort. Two questions:

Advice on what I plant?

Do I plant in the fall, spring or both?

Thank you!!

Not an expert...just my 2 cents...throwing seeds down does not work well!! Not for natives. You could try wintersowing some seeds and planting the seedlings the following year.

Good luck!
