HAVE: Fresh Dogwood seeds

Cornus florida, our glorious spring woodland bloomer, lights up our woods every year! We have lots of fresh berries to plant all through your woods.

Trade for shade plants, brug cuttings, natives.

RE: HAVE: Fresh Dogwood seeds

Barb, I would love some dogwood seeds. I have native pecans, the nuts are delicious, but the shells are hard. I also have a newer variety of pecan and although I don't know what variety it is, many of the nuts have three lobes instead of the usual two halves. If you are interested in a trade, I could send you enough to plant some and eat, then you could tell which ones you prefer. Cheryl

Cassie -

Welcome to GW!

To get started on GardenWeb, you might buy some commercial packets of seeds you want to plant, nice varieties, named ones are most tradeable (like Marigold 'Kilamanjaro', or Monarda "panorama', rather than just Marigold, white, or Beebalm), then keep enough for your garden and repackage the rest for GW trades. Package your trade seeds in batches of a few dozen, label carefully and voila! you have the beginnings of a trade list. Seeds you collect from your or a friend's garden, ripe and dry, can be packaged the same way. You can find little envelopes to pack your seed trades in at Office Depot (look for coin envelopes) or various store's crafts depts. (clear plastic mini-ziploc type bags).

People will also trade for plant labels and other gardening supplies, or gardening mags. or books.

When you know what you want and have something to offer, you should get up a trade page. Scroll to the bottom of this page (or any GW page)to "Member Pages", then click on "Edit Your Exchange Lists" for a form to fill out so people can see what you have and what you are looking for.

Then you're all set to trade.

Welcome again to GW! It's a wonderful place to share gardening with others.

Barb

Email me again in 2 weeks, and if I still have seeds, I'll send you some for postage.
