WANTED: stinging nettles

I am looking for these edible greens, I am one yr in the forum but I do have lobelia cardinalis if anyone wants to trade.Thanks

I'll check my property for stinging nettles. I've just moved there and may have seen some, although I don't know if they were Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) or Wood Nettle
(Laportea canadensis). If they haven't died from the frost I'll get you some.

I have plenty of stinging nettle around, but I think its too late to collect seeds. I'll check. Are you sure you want to eat them? I heard that it takes "experirnce" to eat them. I would be cautious. They are quite common in shady areas along river banks. Fortunatly jewel weed is always near by to counteract their sting.

I grew up eating the nettles, they are rich in iron, you just have to be careful during the picking time to avoid the stinging. At present I have it in powder form, otherwise the young leaves are cooked just like most of the greens.
