WANTED: To plan a spring exchange?

Posted by Lynne19 z6 MA (My Page) on

I think getting a group of us together to exchange extra seeds and plants - maybe in March/early April (?) would be fun. I am in MA, Rte 495S near the Cape. I could find a place to host this. If interested send me an e-mail? Cpprpnny19@aol.com ~

I am very interested except for the fact that the ground is often still frozen and covered with snow until mid to late April up here where I garden. :o( This year may be quite different though as it has been so mild!

Hi again Lynn

I've tried to send you a second email but it keeps coming back as undeliverable. That is probably why you haven't received more email replies. Think your idea is great. We could have one exchange down your way the end of April and up here in the New Hampshire area the end of May.

Lynne-I'd love to be a part of the trade. The end of May is best for me here in Vermont as well.( boy, that seems so far away!) Please keep me updated. Thanks- Elizabeth

Local exchanges are SOoo much fun! I'm afraid you guys are a bit too far for me, though. We've had a local Spring Swap, here,at my house, (Up-state NY), for about 7 years, now. Usually about 50 people or more show up. If anyone is closer to my direction,(about 1/2 way between Troy NY & Vermont), and would like to join in, E-Mail me for the specifics! (Can provide a little flyer with a map on it, too) Dawn

I'd like to take part in this too. I'm in eastern Rhode Island, near the MA border. Is end of April OK?
Also, I've never done an exchange before, so I'd appreciate some guidelines: plant containers, size, etc.

Would be interested in joining the swap. Have never participated, so need some advice and what to bring, etc.

RE: WANTED: To plan a spring exchange?

Gosh, is there any way a newbie could come and join in? I'm just now starting to put in gardens and don't have a lot of anything right now, except maybe pond plants (I put in a pond as soon as we moved here, LOL).

Ooh -- count me in. I'm in Providence but love coming out towards the Cape. Anytime in April would be great for me -- looks like it is going to be a nice warm spring!

Thanks,
Emily

Here's a link to a swap that's being arranged right now. Last I heard the tentative date was May 18th. I believe that Judith will post on that forum with details...
