We're looking for reusable gardening materials for our Nature Center at Camp Berachah in Auburn, WA where we have a petting farm, edible gardens, & activities for school age children attending our before/after school & summer camp programs. Since the ice storm damaged our cyclone fencing for the petting farm, so we're using the opportunity to rebuild & expand our program.

CONTAINERS
clear shoebox size or larger (ok if no lid)
egg cartons
garbage cans plastic or metal (holes okay)
lidded totes for storage
plastic laundry basket
sturdy willow, plastic or coated wire baskets
clean 1 gal. clear milk, water, or juice jugs or 2 liter soda bottles
pots: peat/plastic/clay
wood or plastic whiskey barrel, ok if holes

HOSES & WATERING SUPPLIES
hose connectors, splitter, 4 way manifold, repair kit, or timer
soaker or regular, any length
watering cans
watering wand, adjustable spray nozzle

MISC
Cushioned kneeler or foam camping pads
gloves, nitrile disposable & reusable size S & M
old fashioned cast iron/aluminum hand operated water pump
plastic mini-blinds, light colored for plant labels
seeds: especially peas, pole beans, nasturtium, morning glory, or sunflowers

MULCH
burlap bags
indoor/outdoor carpet
polypropylene bags from animal feed, sugar, rice, etc.
sheeting: plastic (black, clear, green, or red), paper, mylar
shingles: asphalt, wood
stepping stones, bricks, patio blocks
wood chips, shredded leaves, used coffee grounds, straw, shredded papers

PLANT SUPPORTS/FENCING
metal t-posts
plastic or plastic coated fencing
stakes or bamboo poles in lengths 6-15ft for tepees
tomato cages
trellis, arbor, arch... metal headboard or footboard, baby crib ends/sides/metal bottom
welded wire fencing, concrete reinforcing wire, 16 gauge wire at least 10' sections
wood fence boards, posts, 2x2s, stakes
twine, plant tape
6' cyclone fencing, posts, clips, etc.

SEASON EXTENDING/PROTECTION
bird netting, golf course netting, chicken wire
crates: wood, metal or plastic
cold frame, portable greenhouse, clear shower door, clear Plexiglas, framed windows
shelves or large plant stand (plastic, wire, wood)

SOIL & FERTILIZER
dolomite lime
potting soil, peat, coco fiber, perlite, vermiculite, compost
organic fertilizer

TOOLS
garden tools: trowel, shovel, garden fork, rake, hoe (any type), wing weeder
garden cart
old fashioned wood working: draw knife, spudder, crosscutting saw

I can bring several egg cartons to the GE.
You might want to post this on the 'Garden Exchange' post, too. On the 'Exchanges and Trading' page where the 'Pacific Northwest' link is at the bottom of the left column, the 'Garden Exchange' link is at the top of the right column. That's the place where you can post all non-plant garden exchanges, and from the looks of it, it has some current traffic (unlike some pages where the last post was in 2009). Not sure if there are any local people on it, though.

Hi Corrine,

I have several things on your list that I'd like to donate...are you near enough to Seattle to pick them up?
If not, I'm planning a trip to Tacoma soon, and could make a swing over to Auburn with these...

Corrine - will you be at the Olympia trade? I have quite a bit of older seed that I'd love to donate. I have good success with getting older stuff to sprout but it can be hit and miss. Maybe a good lesson on testing seed viability? Anyway..let me know and I'll bring some tomorrow

I'll be at the Green Elephant swap Sat. June 2nd in a burgundy caravan with Camp Berachah on the side.

-8 or 10 foot lengths bamboo or wood stakes for the Jack in the Beanstalk teepee
-plants for a ---
salsa garden: peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, onions
pizza garden: above + oregano
hummingbird and butterfly garden: red or tubular blooms
squashes
cucumbers
empty milk or 2 liter containers
stepping stones or patio blocks: any color size or condition

I'll be at the Green Elephant Sat. Nov. 3rd to collect any unwanted gardening supplies or plants that are deer resistant.

Either in white Suburban or maroon mini van with white Camp Berachah lettering on the side.
