WANTED: common foxglove/digitalis

Posted by girlndocs 8 WA (My Page) on

Looking for some of the wild digitalis purpurea as the field where I previously dug mine each year has been built over (I don't have any luck with it reseeding in my yard, so I plant it like an annual).

Please, let me know if you have a waste/empty area with digitalis I could dig up, or if you just have some extra foxglove to share. I'd be happy to trade something from my trade page or make you a batch of cookies.

Thanks,
Kristin

Hello Kristin,
I have lots of digitalis in the yard. I hate to throw it in the compost, so your welcome to whatever you would like.

I wish I'd thought to include my location. I'm in Tacoma, although I go to Maple Valley fairly regularly and need to make a trip to Capitol Hill in Seattle sometime this upcoming month, and could possibly accomodate plant collecting in those areas too.

Thanks,

Kristin

If you are ever in Portland, I have loads of seedlings all over the place.

girlndocs, are you coming up to the swap 4/28 at Treepalm's? I can bring both digitalis seedlings, and some seeds as it grows freely and I reseed it even more freely here. The colors range from pure white, white with lavender speckles, lavender, etc etc. Like a box of chocolates, you never know what you'll get! Just let me know and I'll bring some along for you.

I didn't know there was such a swap, LOL. It sounds great but I don't know if I'd be able to make it. I found someone nice right across the bridge from me in Gig Harbor who offered me some foxglove, though, so that's covered. Thanks!

Kristin
