WANTED: Hello!

I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been on GW a little bit here and there doing container gardening. We just bought our very first house with my own garden (YAY!) So I'm essentially starting over.

The house we moved into has many, MANY tulips everywhere, and that's about it. ;) So I've got a lot to do!

Anyway, I'm going to try to make the Issaquah trade and wanted to introduce myself and say hello beforehand.

Also, I have a fairly big Scotch Broom in the backyard that needs to go because of allergies. Do you know if anyone wants these, or if there's a way to pass on the plant? I hate to harm it, but I can't have it in my yard for my husband.

Hi Robin, welcome to the garden web. I am sure you will have a good time at the swap. There's lots of great plants, great food and lots of nice people to talk gardening with.

Scotch broom is considered an invasive weed here in the PNW. I don't think you will have to much demand for that one. It self sows everywhere.

Hi Robin,
You should be able to get a good start on your garden at the Issaquah swap. There will be some great and generous gardeners there. Everyone brings extras.

I have to echo what Karen said about the scotch broom. I wouldn't feel too bad about removing it from your yard. I have a forest of them growing behind my yard and would love to make them go away! I seem to be allergic to them as well and they are taking over.
