Seattle Swap May 6th

Seattle Plant Exchange Sat May 6th 10am-3pm

in the usual Central Seattle Location:

Parking lot of Casey Family Program 1123 23rd Ave, just south of the intersection of 23rd and Union St.

across from the Post Office.

This is an "open" swap that doesn't require 1:1 trades, but you are welcome to arrange trades on gardenweb ahead of time. Otherwise just bring the plants, bulbs, seeds etc that you have to offer. Please label!

If you are a new gardener with nothing to offer, food is always welcome.

We will have volunteers on hand to give advice and help identify "mystery" plants.

This swap occurs every spring and fall, and is a great neighborhood tradition for helping new gardeners start their gardens while going home with some great new plants for your own garden.

Are Everett inhabitants welcome as well? I missed the Green Elephant this year and I do have plants to trade!

Heather, I think anybody is welcome. Its a very casual affair. Plants are all just put in the middle. I brought seedlings and a couple of things last year and also brought home a few things and I am a Spanaway inhapitant hehe!

The swap is still on for tomorrow 11am-3pm at the Casey Family Program parking lot in Seattle's Central Garden District, 1123 23rd Ave, just south of Union Street. If anyone needs directions, let me know and I will post them.

Master Composters will be there. The Seattle Times may be there to do a story on Community Plant Swaps.

Does anyone have info for this years swap? Maybe a website I can bookmark to keep up with future dates?

Googled it and found the date 4/21. Boo hoo. Who would have thought that Google would have more info than Garden Web!

But if anyone has a link for any Seattle plant swap calendar. I'd appreciate it.

Anita, My apologies, but I don't organize the swap anymore. It took place on April 21st this year. I think it was posted quite a few places, including Seattle Times/PI. You might want to get on the email list to get the notice for future. There is a fall and spring swap every year. Send me your email address and I will send you an invite to join the yahoo email group.
