WANTED: Looking for hardy vines and ground covers

I'm looking for-
Hardy vines to cover some concrete walls
Extremely vigorous ground covers
Most any VERY vigorous edible plants for planting in a bear habitat.

I'm pretty open on the exact plants. I don't really have anything particular in mind yet.
I'm the gardener at a wildlife sanctuary in SE Alaska and I have some trouble spots I need plants for. Unfortunately almost all I have to offer in trade are SE Alaska native plants... since that mostly what I grow at the sanctuary. I'm working on a list of what I have available.

RE: WANTED: Looking for hardy vines and ground covers

I have English Ivy which works very well as ground covers for trouble spots. Let me know if you want these. I also have some extra Oregon Holly if you want.

RE: WANTED: Looking for hardy vines and ground covers

English ivy is EXTREMELY invasive and highly discouraged. Try Boston ivy (Parthenocissus tricuspidata) or Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia).
Most native shrubs will grow vigorously. Crabapple (Malus fusca), and several varieties of blueberries, salmonberries, some varieties of currents, amelanchier, elderberry, high-bush cranberry, kinnikinnick, and bunchberry (Cornus Canadensis) are native to your area. Look for a local native plants book, or my bible: Plants of the Pacific Northwest Coast, Washington, Oregon, BC, and Alaska by Pojar & MacKinninon. Good Luck!
