It looks like a viburnum to me, too. The leaves are opposite, consistent with a viburnum. If it is a viburnum, it will more likely than not have a line connecting the base of the petioles (easier to see on older wood). Looks like a deciduous Viburnam to me. V. tomentosum?
You will find that it can grow very fast to at least 8 ft.
Beautiful white blossoms and nice Fall color.
