WANTED: Ripe flower stalk of Gunnera manicata Green Elephant

| If you have a mature gunnera in your yard and are planning on attending the Green Elephant on Sept 4, I am looking for a ripe seedstalk of Gunnera manicata. My main plant mysteriously died this summer, and I'm left with two healthy suckers. However the seed stalk died too.
Regards,

| Jim, I assume you mean the long stalk like an elongated pineapple. When should I cut it? I will bring you one if I come. My wife's health is still a question mark. Would you like me to leave it with my friend in Redmond, when we come to the doctors at VA Mason? You can pick it up from him. Balraj. |

| Jim, the seedlings you gave me last fall died (I split them and gave half to a gardening friend and hers died also). Perhaps I lost mine as I was distracted by knee surgery last January. If/when you have another Gunnera starter, I would still love a plant. Maybe I could pick up the one Balraj has for the swap and bring it to you... Christine |

| Well, Balraj brought me this enormous seed stalk from his gunnera in Sequim. The parent plant must be gigantic. Plenty of seeds for everyone who wants to give it a try. Jim |
