Seattle Fall Swap Oct 2nd

The date has been set for the semi-annual Seattle Community Plant Exchange. Sat. Oct 2nd 11 am-3 pm, rain or shine. It will be held as always in the Casey Family Program parking lot at 1123 23rd Ave, just south of Union St in Seattle's Central Area. Open to everyone, with or without plants to offer.

This event has historically been a lot of fun and there are always some great plant finds. It's a terrific resource for beginning gardeners to meet other gardeners and get free plants.

This is an "open swap" meaning that you bring whatever you have to give away, and take whatever looks interesting to you. You can also pre-arrange 1:1 trades ahead of time, just don't put them out in the "Open Trade" area around the canopy-keep them at your car until you make the trade.

Please label plants with name, type of plant, and ideal growing conditions. Warnings on plants that can become invasive are appreciated. Houseplants are also welcome.

We are asking that participants follow plant swap courtesy rules:

Please only take one of each item if multiple pots are available (unless it is the end of the day).

Please divide any plants (if possible) if others are interested.

DO NOT meet people at their car to get "first dibs", only to assist them in carrying plants to the swap area.

If you don't have plants to offer, you are still welcome. Bring some food or drinks instead!

If anyone is interested in volunteering for the event to help participants identify and select plants, your expertise is greatly appreciated, and you'll go home with lots of plants!

Shifts are 10:30-12:20, 12-2, and 1:30-3:30.

Thanks, Lynda
