Jim, sorry I again could not make it to the swap. But I am glad we got together. The plants are all in the ground. Your pictures look wonderful in spite of the unfriendly weather. Apparently, many people still made it. Thanks for taking so much effort to put together these swaps twice a year. Balraj

Jim, I don't know if you remember me from a couple years ago, we traded, you gave me 2 clumps of bamboo, and I agve you hosta's. Well the bamboo has new shoots every year, but not only does it look like it has had spider mites from day one, but each shoot turns black then gray and dies. What could be the cause? I'm thinking of ust digging the up and throwing them out. I've tried all kinds of ways to get them healthy again, but nothing is working. Since they came from your grove then you must have had the same problem, anythoughts?

Kendal where do you have your plants? Do you have them under cover or maybe indoors? Spider mites are usually cured by getting a good washing on all the leaves (especially undersides) when the plant gets watered. It's often a sign that the leaves, not necessarily the roots, are too dry.
