wanted: new to 'tropical ' water lilys and ponds, need info.

Hello All, I've recently moved to a new home in the Miami area which has 2 ponds. One of them is approx 16 feet long / 8 feet wide and has some 4 foot deep areas. I'm brand new to water lilys and I keep reading about having clay in the pots. How important is this, where would I purchase it and what would I mix it with? Also, I'm looking for a Marian Strawn plant if anyone knows where to look online or South Florida nursery? I believe these are tropicals. Unfortunately I don't have anything to trade yet. Thanks for any info and help. Joss

Texas waterlilies were plugging Marian Strawn for under $10 this Summer. Thats a typical price for tropical waterlilies, on Ebay
