WANTED: plants for my breeder/turtle tank

i have a 50 gallon turtle tank whith a breeding pair of bettas i would love some water lettuce,duckweed,and ANY OTHER PLANTS

How do you keep the turtles from eating the betas

he gets feed aquadine fish foods till he's not hungery any more plus the bettas are 2 big for him to eat
