WANTED: Papyrus

Can I grow Papyrus in water? I have several papyrus ryzomes ? that I was planning to transplant to a wet area, in the mean time I did put them in a pretty japanese black ceramic pot next to the window and they look very pretty I wonder if I can leave them in water for ever.

They can be grown in tubs so on in muddy clay like soils (I am sure they are flexible) with about 3 - 6 inches of water. I have some growing inside of a terrarium in wettish soil with great drainage, before I knew what they were (got them from greenhouse grounds)... but was researching something else last night and came across site that showed how they can be grown. Initial bog/marsh plants but Tropica states they now have one that will grow completely underwater... here is link.
