Happy Mother's Day!

To all other mothers out there, happy Mother's Day to you!

What are you doing for your mothers? I will be going with my DH and one of my sons to my mom and dad's place. Of course, my mom will show me all her gardens and a greenhouse full of plants. My mom and dad along with my sister and her DH are the largest vendor in the local farmer's market here in Brandon. So, needless to say, I will see lots and lots of plants and gardens full of peas, radishes, garlic, etc. coming up. I think I will bring a little iris from my garden called "Grandma's Hat" along to give to my mom.

My family is taking me out for lunch. When they asked me where I wanted to go I just asked for a smorg. Canad Inns was suggested...so I guess we'll see.

What did everyone else do?

My older son turned up this morning with two stems of marsh marigolds. LOL He said, "And you thought i forgot!" What a guy... I'm hoping this means there are rocks in the Mother's Day/birthday forecast!

Dh and i and his brother and sister-in-law are taking his mom out for supper tonight. Not sure who else will turn up. That reminds me - i'd better make reservations soon.

My mother doesn't live here and i forgot to order flowers! Bad girl! I have to wait until later now when their Safeway opens and then i'll call them in a panic. :) They know her and will put together something nice for her.

I bought my parents a nice BBQ earlier in the spring and told them it was their presents for the rest of the year. So I am off the hook. LOL. I guess I'd better phone her anyway...

Usually I buy her a plant that I want then kick myself for giving it away. Last year I bought her a New Dawn rose and forgot to tell her it was a climber - by fall it was 8' high in the middle of her flower bed. She moved it this spring to against the wall.

HMD to all you Mothers! I'm not a mom, so no presents, flowers or cards for me ;)

I'm off to work in a few minutes....will most likely phone my mom when I get home around 1030pm. I love my mom so much, I don't know what I do without her.
