For just a couple of days. The darn thing hasn't been feeling well and is going to visit the computer doctor. Hopefully i'll be back online in a day or two. I can still get email, though, so if there's news from Gil someone let me know, please!

RE: Computerless

Looks like another night without it. The computer guy hasn't called yet and i'm just about finished work. Sigh....

RE: Computerless

It's baaaaack! The guy had more trouble with it than he thought he would. Anyway, i've got it now and the updates are installed and after i've finished with the newsletter, i'll start getting things to look the way i want them too.

Big question: what the heck did i ever do with myself pre-computer???

RE: Computerless

Glad to hear you're up and running again Marcia. I know how you feel, it's dreadful not having a computer!

What I did back then when I had no computer.... I watched alot of tv & movies, read books, talked for hours on the phone, wrote letters by hand, did the banking by person and met real people in person. LOL

I had to beg DH back in '97 to buy our first computer, he didn't want one, didn't feel we needed one, now I have to arm wrestle with him that its my turn on the computer!

RE: Computerless

Had to drive my middle DS to the airport on Thursday morning at 6 AM and forgot to pick up my cell phone. So I sent him back into the house to get it. With the snow and ice, I really didn't want to be out on the highway without it. He made a comment to me about it only being a 15 minute drive and he was sure I could get along without it. I laughed and said I didn't know what I did without it for all those years. Funny though. In the 45 minutes it took to get back home, I used it 4 times. My oldest DS, also going on the same flight, had slept in and wasn't at the airport when we got there. Woke him up, he called me back to tell me that he was on his way and middle DS text messaged me twice to tell me they were through security and in the boarding lounge.

Technology!!!!!! Gotta love it.

It is Marcia!

Now I'm so darn addicted to Scrabulous, eh? Shelley and Verena ;)

Shauna, believe it or not, I don't have a cell phone, I guess I should get one ;)

RE: Computerless

DH finally convinced me to get a cell phone, I was always proud that I'd gotten by this long without needing one. However, we found out the other day that if you're stopped by the side of the road with car trouble, NO ONE will stop to ask if you need help (expect the highway maintenance guys, but they rarely come by...). Now the challenge is to keep the darned thing charged!

Computers seem to die at the most inopportune times, like when you actually need them for work. I spend too many hours every day looking at the computer screen, occasionally a breakdown is welcome. :)

RE: Computerless

This breakdown was inopportune, to say the least. Now it's sloooooow - takes forever to refresh a page, etc. So the newsletter has been frustrating. There's one more page to do so i'd better get at it and get it done!
