Assignment #9 Framing the Subject

In this assignment we would like to try framing the main subject. By this we mean, taking a photo of something that is surrounded by a door frame, trees, buildings or whatever you can think of. So, in this assignment the subject is in the background with the door frame, tree or building (as examples) being the foreground.

When we frame our subject we end up drawing more attention to the subject. So, the object of this assignment is to put an emphasis on the subject.

Let's see what we can all come up with for this one. Remember to have some fun taking photographs.

Mind if i throw in one of my attempts at framing a subject.

This scene presented itself to me when i got out of the car while traveling. Not gardening but there are plants in it.

Badaub, Welcome to playing in the photo assignments. The assignments don't have to be gardening...so this is just fine. The tree does frame the boats nicely.

Okay, here are my photos for this assignment. The flower photos were taken this weekend specifically for this assignment. The other was obviously taken last fall.

This isn't the best example, but the pictures i've taken that are similar and with more open water between the trees aren't on my computer. But i think it's kind of what you want:

That photo certainly fits the assignment Marcia. All you had to do was prune some of those branches out of the way. LOL.

On my trip up north this past summer....there was a location very similar to this.....I sooooo wanted to prune those darn trees out of the way. haha But they went straight down the bank.

The weather has not been very cohesive to taking pictures lately, so one of these is from this past spring and the landscape photo is from a couple weeks ago. I cropped both to try and get the right affect.

I'll be keeping this assignment in mind for future photography for sure, it really is a nice effect that one could get very creative with. Thanks again ladies :)
