Here are two pictures that I took.

The first one is using an auto setting on the camera. When you use an auto setting the camera looks at all the colors and averages all of them to a gray setting. This picture is very gray.

The next picture was taken with the camera on the snow setting. This allows more light into the camera and basically overexposes the picture but in doing so, the snow is actually now a white not gray in color.

Anyone else been playing out in the snow with their cameras? This is what I came up with for this assignment.

Some grey snow. This was kind of interesting because the wind was blowing pretty hard and created these ripples in the snow.

Sierra, it is interesting to see the snow through the camera when it is set for normal exposure...your first picture doesn't even look like snow. It looks more like sand on the edge of a beach or lake, that makes you want to walk in it, to walk on some of the ripples. Are you sure you didn't go on a warm holiday somewhere and post the beach sand picture you took while down there?

Well I wish I was on a warm holiday somewhere....but unfortunately that was taken right here at the park. It was cold and windy. The snow was actually hard enough to walk on. Brrrrrrr!

I did have the snow/beach setting on but it still looks very blue though, but I guess that must be the natural shadow colour.
