I assume there won't be much in the Q album.

Let's see what you've got ;)

I really like the colouration of that iris Sharon. I bet it's a real eye catcher in the garden!

I haven't got any Q's. Hmmmm.....must rectify that ;^)

I got nuttin. Looks like Quadra made a vegetative centre for you Sharon ;0) Cool.

Gil, what the heck is a vegetative centre?

It's that green thing in the middle Sharon, it's just a single-occurrence deformity (sorta like fasciation) of the reproductive parts. Sometimes it's lumpy, but sometimes it looks like sepals or even an extra bud. It seems to happen randomly in roses, though there is a stronger tendency in some varieties and there seems to be some link to high levels of nitrogen fertilizer.

Anyway, unless you were planning on showing that particular bloom, it's just cool. ;0) And we all know we are rabid rose show competitors here. (not)

Geez, I didn't even realize that green thing in the middle. I'll have to check if it shows up again this year.
I learn something new everyday here at the GW! Thanks Gil ;)
