Plants & Misc that start with 'S' 2008 Photos

I was downloading pictures of my Ss into my photobucket album and thought I would also share with all of you some of the Ss in my yard that bloomed last summer.

Last fall I found a batch of slug eggs when I was tipping plants out of pots.

This spider was walking on the grass on our lawn in mid Sept. I love its red body with the dots of white on it. Anyone know what kind of spider it is?

Squirrel in oak tree, eating an acrorn.

Serenata Clematis was new to me last year.

Last summer was the first time I saw the Spiny Rose Gall on my roses. Right after this picture was taken the affected leaves and gall was thrown into the garbage. I will be watching for these little spiny balls next summer on my roses!

Sierra, I now have quite a few Siloam daylilies here in the yard, 52 kinds to be exact, with another 14 on order for this spring from Floral and Hardy. They are very hardy and I love them for edges of walkways. They are also easy to hybridize with, especially Siloam Plum Tree.

Sharon, I don't know the name of the spider but it kind of reminds me of a strawberry. Really different!

Pretty sunflowers. Cute little bee on the first one.

Brenda, I am sure I will be ordering more daylilies next year, once I see what happens with my garden this year. This year we are trying to concentrate on the back around the deck area. I thought these little ones would look good along the walk at the bottom of the steps, with lavender mustead, maybe. I did have a look at F&H website.
