Time has come where Dahlias are starting to bloom everywhere. I have a few that I wanted to share :) (that whole death threat and lol lol j/k)

So here they are:

{{gwi:628364}}

This is Leutwichten, a dwarf that just opened yesterday

{{gwi:628363}}

This is Longwood Dainty, another dwarf, but she's a beaut

{{gwi:628362}}

This is Suitzus Julie (yet another dwarf) doing wonderful. I have this one and Longwood Dainty in containers this year and they seem to be doing well. (all accept for the one that hubby overwatered and is now dying....I'm TRYING to recover it....we'll see though)

{{gwi:628361}}

And this is Preston Park. I got these as a bonus when I ordered this spring. They are also classed as dwarfs. They have black foliage on them and they're just lovely!

That's all for now. I have ONE about to open up

{{gwi:628365}}

I'm PRETTY sure it's Keating Estate.....either that or it's Ferncliff Inspiration (but I'm preeeeety sure it's Keating)Give me a few days and we'll find out for sure lol.

Does anyone else have any Dahlias to share yet?

    Hey there Nikki,
    Nice Dahlias. I'm gonna spill the beans here, cause we don't want anyone feeling bad about their dahlias. LOL.
    These were started in pots, weren't they? How early?

    I just put mine straight into the ground and some have buds and some don't yet. The ones with buds have just started getting them, so they arn't anywhere near ready to open. If this heat keeps up though, we will have blooms earlier this year.

    Thanks for starting this thread...I wanted to see pics. LOL! I'll post pics once they get a bloomin' here.

    All the ones shown here were put straight into the ground. I had a total of 8 plants in pots and I managed to plant 2 of the bunch lol. I kinda ran out of room ;)

    SOOO.....these are all fresh in the dirt. I have MEGA buds on most of my plants. For myself I'm having a great year with my dahlias. Must be the good weather or something.

    The 2 that I started earlier in pots, they're doing pretty good. The one has a big bud on it and is ready maybe next week to show some form of colour. Bristal Spartan I do believe it is (at least that's what it was marked as) and the other is Inland Dynasty. No worries though...I'll be sure to post more pics as they bloom :D

    They are all beautiful Nikki! I've got one dwarf that was started in a pot and it's been blooming for awhile now. At least 2 weeks anyway. The one in the ground doesn't have buds yet either.

    Here are a couple more that are in bloom. (please ignore the looks of the Sparticus pic...it didn't show up very well....I clipped it off and now I"m waiting for the next bloom :)
    Sparticus (this pic does it no justice) STUNNING!!!

    Heh heh, show me your dinner plates! I can't believe how many flowers each Kelvin has on it.....and all are sooooo big so far.

    I uuhh have some others blooming that arn't dinner plates....I think they must have been the free extras they tossed in. Still waiting patiently for the rest to get blooming.

    Sparticus is "pretty". How big is that flower?

    Sparticus is for sure an A...not quite big enough to be a Dinner plate.

    My Kelvin last year....goodness it was gorgeous! I had 3 good blooms on it (but the first was the best)

    Right now my DP's that I'm waiting for are, Wanda's Capella and Papageno (she's JUST starting to open)So I think about 8 days or so if the weather holds out nice like it's supposed to.

    Here are 2 more that I was able to snap today :)

    Carl Chilson
    {{gwi:629515}}

    Ferncliff Daybreak
    {{gwi:629517}}

    and Worton Bluestreak

    Here is another one.

    {{gwi:629094}}

    This one is interesting because each petal is yellow on the top and orangy red on the bottom. But its not a dinner plate. :-(

    Here are a few more that have bloomed :)

    Wandas Capella (this bud was deformed a bit so it kinda fanned out instead of the fully round...I like it!)
    {{gwi:629508}}

    Here's a better shot of Wine and Roses
    {{gwi:629509}}

    Here is Lemon Drops, it's really a sweet flower, very dainty
    {{gwi:629510}}

    And here is Bristal Spartan
    {{gwi:629511}}

    Still more opening every day. I'll repost Wandas Capella when the others open, they're just in the process now.

    Nikki~

    Oh...and Sierra, can you send me a pic of your Kelvin? (I missed it and now the pic is gone :(

    Still drooling (enviously) over everyone's photos. When I checked my dahlias, today, I found ONE small bud. I may actually get to see a flower before the first frost. :-) Keeping my (apparently not-green-enough) fingers crossed!!
