| Sharon, is your Dianthus areniarus the same as the Snowdonia White that I got from you? If so, I must remember to plant it in a clump - yours looks great like that. I was really impressed with the size and scent of it BTW. Cmon gals let's see your D's! Don't be shy! |

| I'm not sure what species you got there Gil, do you still have the package? I can't even remember where I got that 'Snowdonia' package of seed? Are you sure its spelled Snowdonia, I googled but not much information is popping up? |
|
| I've seen the Snowdonia white dianthus advertised in one of the on line catalogs, but a person doesnt get the full impact of them with just a close up of a bloom.. Sharon your clump of dianthus arenarius is lovely. A few "Ds" of mine Mixed Delphs Percival Delph seedling < Dahlia- Momemtum (at least it was suppose to be momemtum but the colour isnt quite right) Jean Marie Richard David unknown pink unknown purple Unknown wine/red Ditch Lily Double petunia Hanging baskets savona

| Yup it was Dianthus 'Snowdonia White' from McKenzie (Select Premier Collection, ooh aah LOL). I just noticed on the back it is Dianthus superbus, so I guess it's not the same as yours anyways Sharon. It's a short-lived Zone 4 perennial that blooms the first year - so that might be why you gave the seeds to me?? Anyway I still have seeds but the plants stayed behind at the old house so I won't know this year if it survives the winters. Anyway the smell was very nice, a nice strong sweet carnation smell. BTW lookin good Savona and Sharon! Savona, the sun in that pic of the ditch lily looks so warm and bright... sigh. |

|
| I decided that today was the day to make time to add some of mine. The dahlias are stunning. I honestly didn't realize that they were so pretty. That's it. Sharon, if you have lots of Dianthus arenarius seed, I'd really be interested. I've noticed that T&M has a coloured dianthus with fringy flowered petals. They are on my wish list. Shelley |
