Peony selling out

| I was just on the Lilies in the Valley site. I had to email them about something and when they replied they also told me that all peonies were in small supplies and as soon as they sold, they wouldn't be carrying them any more. http://www.lilies.ca/paeonies/index. Here's wishing everyone a Happy New Year and the best growing season ever! Marg |

| I took a look at the peonies that the Lilies of the Valley carry and I either have them already or for different reasons (eg price or old variety of peony) don't want the other ones that they also have. I noticed that they have their daylilies listed in the lily section. Hemerocallis or the daylily should not be in a lily section. They are totally different plants. When I see this in a nursery it makes me not able to trust them as a knowledgeable plant supplier. They also have the canna lily and the calla lily listed as hybrids of the lily. hmmmm.... Brenda |

If you need an alternative place to order, La Pivoinerie DAoust in Quebec has lovely peonies, and easy online ordering. http://www.paeonia.com/index.htm |
Here is a link that might be useful: Pivoinerie DAoust

| I had a look at Lilies in the Valley, but anything I was interested in wasn't cheaper than usual, and there isn't a good selection, so I don't think the shipping is worth it. Thanks for the heads up, anyway. I DO intend to order from La Pivoinerie D'Aoust though! I love her classic collection, lots of excellent old French and English varieties. I also want to order from Parkland Perennials this year. |

| Hi weeper, Peony lady here. I have ordered from many different peony growers and have found Bob at Parkland to be the best! But I am probably a little prejudiced. Lol! Ferncliff in BC are also excellent. Add Lindsey at La Pivoinerie D'Aoust as well as Mano at Capano's. Don't know what the best shipping prices are. I guess it depends on how far they have to go. One of my favorite peonies is Viking Chief. You have to see it in bloom as not one picture can do that blooming machine justice. Of course the old varieties such as Shirley Temple, La donna, Top Brass, Sara Bernhart, Kansas, and anything bred by Klehm, Sass, Krekler,Kelway and Saunders to name a few. Great old breeders. I can email you my varieties I have if you like. And you can check out some of my pictures from 2011 bloom season here. I hope the link works.
