Birds can be so strange

We have a flat feeder for the blue jays and doves, there is a rim around the edge. There is one dove that sits in the middle of the feeder. Other doves can come but they can only sit on the edge, once they set foot in the feeder the pecking starts. The honery dove does let one tree sparrow join in when it's eating. No other birds allowed! It is so funny to watch this happening. We did get another snow owl here, a younger, smaller one. I didn't get a picture because it was 6 p.m. and starting to get dark. Hahaha! That is so funny, Marg! We have a squirrel here that does the same! He stretches spread eagle across the lasagna dish and chases everyone away! Then he freaks out and starts chasing everyone away by running after them along the top of the fence! Hilarious to watch!

Lots of little wood peckers and red breasted nuthatches still this January. The flicker has been stopping by very regularly too. Such a pretty bird! Still plenty of winter here to enjoy the birds. :)

Marg, yes, the birds and squirrels sure do provide for some very good free entertainment! That reminds me, I need to put the bird feeder back up after it came crashing down.
