That's quite the property you have! How many acres? The bush looks a lot like around here - pretty wild!

The red berries are mountain ash, they are beautiful and we were so happy to see them on the property. The property in Alaska is slightly over one acre, it looks like more because of the paths weaving in and about. We were trying to get pathways cleared through and clean up brush piles ect. without doing any real clearing yet. I think there is some gorgeous native plants and vines, possibly the site of an old perennial bed also and berries galore. It was just to late in the year to be able to evaluate it properly. I didn't want to risk destroying very things that made us fall in love with the property in the first place.
The property in MN is five acres. When we bought the property in MN almost the entire five acres was covered with underbrush, poplar trees, old farm junk and even an abandoned car or two. My husband and I cleared up the property by hand over four years, tore down the old house and built another. Then we had to move! But, we know we can do it again. I do hope though that this will be the last time. It is tiring to work so hard and then leave just as the fruits of our labor is ready to harvest.
